NECA Boston Member Stalker Electric Protecting Our Communities

Founded in 1991 as a small family electrical contracting firm in Woburn, MA, Stalker Electric Inc. is now a renowned fire suppression specialist with massive contracts across Greater Boston and New England. And much of that meteoric growth stems from its business philosophy of “staying the same.”

“We have remained a small family firm with the same philosophy we started with over 30 years ago,” says Shawn Stalker, the firm’s President, who runs the firm with his brother, Kyle. “Quality work, done right, the first time, is the motto we encourage to this day,” says Shawn Stalker, whose father Will started the business.

Becoming an Industry Leader in the Fire Suppression Field

Although Stalker Electric is capable and performs everyday installations, they have a high degree of expertise in the Fire Alarm and suppression field. They design, install, service, test, and inspect systems, while also providing 24/7 monitoring, and much more. Their turnkey solutions include design and the necessary wiring to control devices, shutdowns, alarms, etc.

Stalker attributes being a signatory contractor to IBEW Local 103 and a NECA Boston Member for three decades to their success in a complex and challenging sector.

“Our Local 103 Electricians are not only highly qualified but also receive hours of specialized training in this niche sector,” Stalker says.

And fire suppression and alarm contracting are massive responsibilities they don’t take lightly. “We recognize and share your utmost concern for preserving the life and property you are charged with protecting,” the firm says.

Over Three Decades of Success in Four States

Stalker Electric currently does business in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont and continues expanding in New England. Its impressive clientele includes many of the major hospitals, universities and sports arenas in Greater Boston, ranging the gamut from Harvard University to Gillette Stadium.

Despite the firm’s stratospheric growth, “many of our customers are the same customers we started with when the company got started,” Stalker says.

Shawn, the firm’s President, said that an “unparalleled commitment to our customers” has allowed the firm to retain longtime clients and expand its business through word of mouth.

Protecting Boston’s Banks and Powering Future Industry Leaders

One testament to the firm’s reputation and retention is its work with JP Morgan Chase, where they have worked on the turn-key installation of electrical fire alarms, controls, and low voltage systems for over 18 Chase Bank branches. In addition, their installations include state-of-the-art energy-saving and power-monitoring applications.

In July of last year, Stalker Electric began yet another JP Morgan Chase project at 9 Central St. Wellesley, MA. This project was run by Bobby Trudel, an IBEW Local 103 Journeyman. The firm takes great pride in hiring journeymen from IBEW and empowering them to become both experts and leaders in the field.

“Bobby has been part of the Stalker Electric team since early in his apprenticeship and recently graduated from the IBEW 103 Apprenticeship program. He has been waiting to run work and we could not be happier to see one of our own get the opportunity, he deserves it,” Stalker concluded.
