The historic renovation of the Cathedral of the Holy Cross entailed the highly detailed retrofitting and installation of the Cathedral’s lighting to LED light fixtures and lighting controls system. In addition to the scope, McDonald Electrical installed a security system along with the A/V system for Catholic TV.

One Congress
The project at One Congress, the centerpiece building of Bulfinch Crossing development, involves the installation of core and shell electrical. The installation accommodates the entire 600-foot, 43-story office tower and will be LEED Gold Certified. One Congress will have 1,000,000 sq. ft. office space; future headquarters for anchor tenant State Street Corporation.

Ted Williams Tunnel Lighting Replacement
The project at Ted Williams Tunnel consisted of replacing the existing lighting system with new LED fixtures and hardware. J & F White Contracting installed supports and new conduits for tunnel lighting system, with upgraded LED lighting to improve driving conditions. Ted Williams Tunnel’s new light system will be more energy efficient and require less maintenance.

Solar Landfill
Aldon Electric, Inc., based in Weymouth, MA, has completed electrical construction of the 5.8MW, ground-mount solar (PV) project on a 12-acre capped landfill, a Superfund Site, located at 50 MBTA Access Road in Ashland, MA. The utility-scale solar project is comprised of the installation of 15,562 ballast-mounted PV modules manufactured by Boviet Solar USA, and 26 combiners which feed into 3 central solar inverters. Aldon Electric’s PM John Michael and Foreman Tony Michael headed the project team, managing a crew of 57 IBEW Local 96, Local 223 and Local 103 electricians in the fast-tracked three-month project.
