Class is in Session!

The 2026-2027 Education Series Schedule is Here and Waiting for You

Autumn’s arrival always brings a fresh start and the spirit of renewal and progress. For NECA Boston and its members, that means the 2026-2027 Education Series brochure is now posted! This month’s newsletter offers your first look at the series’ offerings, including more than 50 programs dedicated to the issues and skills shaping the future of our industry.

This year’s schedule is especially far-reaching and in-depth, with courses and sessions offering new insights on project management, crew safety, financial management, contracts and legal issues, market intelligence, and emerging technologies. The 800-pound gorilla in the room is, of course, artificial intelligence, so we’ve expanded our focus on AI and the practical ways these new tools are transforming how contractors plan projects, manage information, and do business. You want AI on your side, and NECA Boston is dedicated to making that happen.

Education at NECA isn’t limited to one role or one point in a career. The calendar includes opportunities for owners and executives, project managers, foremen, emerging leaders, and professionals at all levels. The comprehensive approach is intentional. Our commitment to continuing education is rooted in the belief that everyone in our industry is a work in progress, always advancing, always improving, always preparing for the next challenge, that unforeseen opportunity.

You'll find that commitment to learning and preparedness throughout this month’s newsletter. Read about our Industry Executive Committee’s tour of Markley Group’s Lowell data center for a firsthand look at the sophisticated electrical infrastructure behind this rapidly growing market. At Benjamin Franklin Cummings Tech, Rob Boullard of Mass Electric spoke with students about careers in electrical construction. We also highlight new research from Suffolk and MIT on the implications of AI for construction.

And don’t miss this month’s Contractor Spotlight on E.S. Boulos, which takes us inside the company’s work on Northeastern University’s Roux Institute in Portland. This project brings together many of the themes shaping our industry today, from technology and innovation to workforce development and new approaches to construction.

Helping our members get better at what they do is the core of NECA Greater Boston’s Education Series. Our mission is to provide tools to navigate a changing industry and develop the people who will lead our companies forward. I encourage every member to dive into the brochure, explore the offerings, and register your teams.

We look forward to seeing you in the classroom!
