February was a strong and eventful month for NECA Boston, building on the momentum from the State of the Commonwealth and State of the City at the end of January, where we stood alongside IBEW and civic leaders to reinforce the critical role union electrical contractors play in powering our region’s future.
This month, we filed an amicus brief in support of enforcing the Massachusetts Prompt Payment Act and proudly launched the 2026–2027 Industry Executive Committee. We also joined all four IBEW locals at the national Employee Benefits Conference, underscoring our commitment to strong leadership and well-governed benefit funds.
We closed out February with a massive snowstorm — fitting timing as the Massachusetts House released its Energy Bill the day after. The irony underscores an important reality: our energy future must prioritize reliability, flexibility, security, and affordability, utilizing an all-of-the-above approach. NECA Boston is actively reviewing the bill and will work with industry partners to thoughtfully weigh in. A copy of the bill summaries HERE.
Thank you for your continued leadership and engagement.
