NECA Boston contractors continue to lead across our region -- on jobsites, in classrooms, and at industry events. This month’s newsletter reflects the incredible energy and engagement from our members and partners.

May is National Small Business Month, a time to celebrate the outstanding contributions of small businesses to the Commonwealth. Fittingly, we kick things off with our Contractor Spotlight featuring Energen Power Group LLC.  Under the leadership of Eileen Harkins, this certified WBE union shop is delivering high-caliber electrical solutions across industries in the region.

The month also NECA Boston’s observation of Construction Safety Week, which reminded us of our most important job: sending every worker home safely. Thank you to everyone who joined us at Safety Day on May 8th — from safety training to food truck fun, the day was a great success. Our new partnership with MAC Safety is live and giving members access to a robust JHA library on our Members-Only website.

We also took part in the 2nd Annual New England NECA Education Symposium at Mohegan Sun, diving deep into trends shaping the future of our industry — from AI and economic forecasting to smart growth and succession planning.

At the Offshore Wind Summit in Long Island, NECA Boston was present and engaged in building a more sustainable future. We’ll continue to keep you informed on offshore opportunities and how our firms can lead in this space.

We are excited to welcome our newest NECA member, Revolution Fire Alarm, and look forward to having them in our network. The contractor takes a customer-first approach to every project, boasting a dedicated team of professionals eager to deliver high-quality services, from expert fire alarm installations to comprehensive maintenance and inspections.

We're also proud to share two timely research releases from ELECTRI International:
Understanding & Measuring Rework – a practical guide to tackling one of construction’s biggest hidden costs – and AI Implementation Roadmap, designed to help electrical contractors evaluate, adopt, and scale AI on the job.

Applications are now open for the Fran Angino Scholarship Fund, and we encourage all eligible individuals to apply.

As we close out the spring, we congratulate our NECA Boston member firms recognized in NECA National’s 2025 Safety Excellence Program. Your leadership in safety sets the bar high for our entire industry.

Finally, as we wrap up our 2024–2025 Education Program, we thank you for your participation and input. Be sure to complete our end-of-year survey and keep an eye out for our 2025–2026 Education Bulletin coming this summer.

Let’s continue this momentum — together, we’re building a stronger electrical industry across New England.
