Politics influence nearly every aspect of our lives — from economic policies that redefine trade and workforce development to investments in energy, education, and infrastructure. Now more than ever, being engaged and involved is vital.
At our recent Chapter Meeting, we had a packed house for a timely Contractor Briefing that addressed the latest legislative and regulatory changes impacting our industry. From shifting tariffs and federal funding cuts to the growing sense of economic uncertainty, balanced with measured optimism, our expert panel delivered critical insights to help NECA contractors navigate what’s ahead.
Taking that momentum to Washington, NECA Boston’s Legislative Committee proudly attended the 2025 NECA National Legislative Conference. This premier event brought together contractors from across the country to engage directly with policymakers on the issues shaping our future. Our group met with current and incoming members of Congress, including new voices like New Hampshire’s newest Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander and longtime friends like Congressman Bill Keating, Stephen Lynch, Richard Neal and more.

The NECA Boston Political Action Committee (PAC) plays a crucial role in these efforts, giving us the power to amplify our influence, shape policy, and support candidates who understand and back our industry. At our last meeting and looking ahead, we will continue to strongly encourage all members to contribute. Every dollar makes a difference in strengthening our voice in Washington and beyond.

While federal engagement is critical, we are reminded that all politics are local. That is why we’re proud to announce that Walter Morrell, NECA Boston’s Director of Education, has declared his candidacy for Salem’s Ward 1 City Council. Walter represents exactly what strong, community-focused leadership looks like — and he has our full support! Learn more about Walter’s campaign at walterward1salem.com.
Your voice, your action, and your support are needed now more than ever.
