New Union Apprenticeship Pathway for Madison Park Graduates

Boston has launched a new initiative giving top graduates from Madison Park Technical Vocational High School direct access to union apprenticeship programs. As part of a Project Labor Agreement tied to the city’s school construction plan, up to 50 high-achieving students annually from certified trades programs—including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC—will be guaranteed entry into the Building Pathways pre-apprenticeship program.

This effort aims to create a clear, equitable pipeline from vocational education to union careers, especially for women, young adults, and people of color. It reflects the city’s commitment to investing in local talent and expanding opportunity within the skilled trades.
