Industry Executive Committee – Third Quarter Focuses on Government & Advocacy
NECA Boston's Industry Executive Committee (IEC) continues to develop the next generation of contractor leaders through education on labor relations, trust funds, advocacy, public policy, and industry engagement.
During its Q3 meeting, IEC members spent the day at the Massachusetts State House meeting with elected officials and industry leaders to discuss the issues shaping the electrical construction industry. Discussions included housing policy with the Housing for All Coalition and the Massachusetts Joint Committee on Housing Chairman Richard Haggerty. The group also discussed energy affordability and reliability with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center and Representative Mark Cusack, along with the role of local government with Boston City Councilor Erin Murphy and Senator Paul Feeney.
The program reinforced the importance of contractor engagement in public policy and how advocacy helps create opportunities for NECA electrical contractors and the highly skilled IBEW workforce.
